CareProvider Spotlight: November 2025

For this month’s CareProvider Spotlight, we are proud to highlight Hajara. Every once in a while, you meet someone whose dedication quietly speaks louder than words. Hajara is one of those people. She’s a careprovider who specializes in G-tube care and clients with special needs, and she doesn’t hesitate to accept shifts even when it means traveling far from home.

What makes Hajara stand out isn’t just her skill, it’s her patience, humility, and hardworking nature. She meets every client exactly where they are, giving care that is thoughtful, calm, and deeply personal. She doesn’t do it for recognition, she does it because she genuinely cares. For her, every shift is an opportunity to make a real difference, and that’s why she truly deserves this spotlight.

What made you become a caregiver, and how has it changed your view of caring for others?

“My passion for caregiving started at a very young age when I assisted in taking care of my grandfather. I find joy and a sense of fulfillment in caregiving. Growing up around that experience really shaped me. It made me realize how meaningful it is to help someone who relies on you, and that feeling stayed with me even as I got older.

Caregiving has taught me the need to care for people individually, knowing that no two people are the same. I render individualized care. Every client is different, different personalities, different needs, different ways of communicating, so I’ve learned to adjust and pay attention to what works best for each person.

Caregiving has also taught me the importance of patience and empathy. These two things are really at the core of what we do. Some clients take longer to trust, some take longer to understand, and some just need someone to listen. Patience and empathy make everything easier for both of us.

Caregiving has taught me to be compassionate and kind. Even small acts of kindness make a big difference. When clients feel that you truly care, it builds trust, and that trust makes the job meaningful.”

Can you share a powerful moment from your caregiving experience?

“The moment I will always remember in my caregiving experience was when I was care for a client who has had a fall before and refuses to walk even with assistive device due to fear of another fall. I encouraged and assisted to walk. She was very happy and she said to me “You are very kind I like you.“

That moment touched me because I saw how scared she really was, and how much courage it took just to try again. When she finally took those steps and smiled, it reminded me why I love what I do. Hearing her say those words felt so real and so sincere. It made me feel appreciated, and it stayed with me.”

What are the biggest challenges caregivers face, and how can we support them better?

  • “Stress leading to burnout. Caregivers often handle many responsibilities at once, which can become overwhelming over time.”
  • “Lack of self-care. Many caregivers forget to prioritize themselves because they focus so much on their clients.”
  • “Lack of recognition. The work caregivers do is meaningful, yet it is not always acknowledged.”
  • “Support. Having emotional and practical support helps caregivers stay strong.”
  • “Rest. Adequate rest is essential for caregivers to stay healthy, energized, and effective.”
  • “Time management and reduced workload. Balancing tasks can be overwhelming, especially with heavy schedules and back-to-back responsibilities.”
  • “Recognize hard work and accomplishments. Recognition boosts morale and reminds caregivers that their contributions matter.”

How can we make people more aware of the crucial role caregivers play in society?

  • “Education. People need to understand what caregivers actually do and how important our role is.”
  • “Public awareness on the essential role of care given. Sharing real stories and promoting awareness helps people appreciate how vital caregiving is in supporting families and vulnerable individuals.”

What improvements would you like to see in caregiving in the future?

“I would like to see career growth opportunities, as caregiving should have clear paths for advancement and learning. Better support and benefits are also important, as consistent resources make it easier for caregivers to stay secure, motivated, and focused on providing quality care. Recognizing and celebrating achievements goes a long way, especially in such a demanding field, helping caregivers feel valued for their hard work. Finally, mental health support is essential, as caregiving can be emotionally heavy, and having access to resources ensures caregivers can maintain their well-being while continuing to provide compassionate care.”
